This year the 31 BIEMH has been full of good news, the most important the prize for innovation awarded to our AETOS machine, in machine tools’ category.

It happened on Thursday morning, at the event organized at the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC): the 14th National Award for Innovation in Advanced and Digital Manufacturing organized by AFM Cluster. This prize, which was decided at 11:00 in the morning, was awarded in the Machine-tool category to ZAYER for our AETOS model 5-axis gantry milling machine, of which the jury highlighted aspects related to ergonomics and ease of use for the operator.

The awards ceremony was chaired by Ainara Basurko, Provincial Councilor for Economic Promotion of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, accompanied by the General Director of Industry and SMEs of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Galo Gutiérrez, the president of AFM Cluster, José Pérez Berdud, the general director of AFM Cluster, Xabier Ortueta and the general director of BEC, Xabier Basañez.

The jury, composed by representatives up of Beaz, Bic Gipuzkoa, CDTI, Eide, Ergogroup, Ihobe, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Osalan, Spri, Tecnun-University of Navarra and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), took into account criteria of technology, innovation, design, ergonomics, safety and sustainability when deciding the winners of the awards.

The AETOS that has won is a machine manufactured for AUDI TOOLING BARCELONA.

It has given to be exhibited on this occasion and has generated a lot of amazement during the fair.

The exhibited AETOS machine is a Gantry type machine, whose main function for its end user will be die finishing. Continuous improvement processes and a set of modern design and manufacturing techniques have made it possible to incorporate specific technologies to give maximum precision to a gantry-type machining center that meets all the demands of versatility, safety, ergonomics, accuracy and respect for environment.

The design integrates a structural optimization and achieves an excellent balance between the rigidity of the machine and the optimal distribution of material, thus achieving greater thermal stability.
