Another example of ZAYER’S strategy of alliances is its collaboration with WITTENSTEIN

The partnership is framed within engineering the drives for the award-winning AETOS machine.

ZAYER is seeking to create a network of dependable collaborators for the development of advanced, innovative machines that will make an impact on industry in the future. A significant step forward in this strategy is the recent collaboration for the AETOS machine, which was awarded the national prize for innovation.

WITTENSTEIN

WITTENSTEIN is a leading brand in drive systems, with its headquarters in Harthausen, Germany.

Its team of experts in each sector and the know-how developed over more than 30 years have furthered the reputation of WITTENSTEIN solutions.  The company serves sectors such as machine-tools and packaging technology and offers state-of-the-art technology for electro-mechanical drive systems.

PROJECT: OPTIMIZING THE AETOS MACHINE

WITTENSTEIN adapted to ZAYER’S demanding requirements from the very start and their experts found the ideal combination of gears and racks to optimize the construction and dynamics of the AETOS machine.

DRIVE SYSTEMS

The team of experts at ZAYER was satisfied by the precisely-sized bellows coupling mechanical system based on WITTENSTEIN technology; the high-performance planetary gears can withstand high speeds while maintaining high precision during movement reversals, ensuring high drive system rigidity. This enables very high speeds, acceleration and precision on the machine’s linear axes.

The result was efficient sizing of the gear and coupling system, which was then ready to integrate cynapse ®, a gear sensor adapted to monitor and track machine operations.

AETOS, 14th NATIONAL INNOVATION AWARD

AETOS is a gantry milling machine with 5 axes, moving bridge, fixed table and cross beam. On examination, the panel at AFM Cluster recognized aspects such as its ergonomics and operator ease-of-use and gave it the award for advanced, digital manufacturing in the Machine-Tool category.

The machine has been designed with built-in structural optimization, thereby achieving an excellent balance between machine rigidity and optimal material distribution, as well as thermal stability that exceeds the expected market standards. This translates into greater precision, durability and sustainability.

Undoubtedly, WITTENSTEIN has contributed by studying the requirements of its axes and providing a competitive solution consisting in a gear with excellent precision and a coupling that ensures machine rigidity, reliability and precision.

Collaboration between ZAYER and WITTENSTEIN that will surely generate further innovations in Machine-Tools.
